setting up a second router to increase wifi signal strength

BRADSTER111

Hello all. I am a student that is moving into an apartment with ethernet ports in the bedrooms. I was wondering if I should be able to buy a router and and connect the primary and secondary router using the primaries wan ports. I am looking to do this for the apartment/ dorms as getting mesh wifi isn't feasible.

Yes you can buy router connect to other router.

Doesn't matter you can treat router as computer.

Basically gives ip to both and choose your favourite subnet and own wifi name as you like.

Be mindful choose different subnet like

Primary 192.168.0.1

Secondary 192.168.1.1

Third 192.168.2.1

So it routes correctly.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

Regardless of compatibility 🐧🖖

You can do that, but I'd recommend setting up the second one in bridge mode

Ah right I've always forgotten that.

Yes this is lot easier.

Weird domain name though.

Makes me think of social app/dating app.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.
