Should I sell my 5600x?

Hello there, I've been planning a build for months now, and I've only gotten some components. I just have to buy the power supply, RAM, and motherboard. Before the 7000 series came out, I bought a Ryzen 5 5600X on a sale for $180 CAD with a 3060 ti, a Lian Li Lancool II, and a 1TB SSD. Now that the 7000 series has come out, should I sell my 5600x and buy something like a 7600x, then get a better motherboard and RAM?

nah, it will work fine with the 3060ti.

If you really want that upgrade path nailed down, you can of course do it, but it won't have a big effect on the gamingspeed of build you are assembling right now.

I say stick with the one you already have. Its a fine cpu.

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

Might aswell just so you have an upgrade path, just the ram and cpus are abit expensive but boards wise the b650m hdv is already more than what most ppl need and thats supposed to be an "entry" level board even though the vrms will handle an overclocked 7950x

Pretty much why you dont build overtime and buy in 1 go, also that 5600x is probs only worth 100-120cad used if not less, yeah am4 is dirt cheap used especally used b3/450

It might be better to go for the newer platform at this point. Leaves you better set for future upgrades.

No.  The 5600x is still more than fast enough for almost any GPU at most resolutions.  Unless you bought a 4080  or 4090, it's fine.  You're overthinking this by a mile.  Just build your system and play some games.  You won't notice anything.  Years from now you may feel compelled to upgrade, and at that point you'll do it.  By then, the difference between a 5600 and 7600 will be negligible.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

7000 series has been out for a long time now, when did you buy the 5600x?   It's never a good idea to buy PC components over time.

Get the 7600, not the 7600x, sell the 5600x.

I have a 5600X in my sons system, its still pretty decent imo. I have it capped to +150, so 4800MHz. It wont be like an X3D, or something a little more modern, but it still has some grunt.

I would suggest waiting until the 9000 series comes out probably before July, according to rumors.  Maybe a 9600X will be amazing, or price drops in 7600X.  At least that is what I keep telling myself about my 5600X.
