Thoughts on this 1440p gaming and media production build?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FLDzwg

I wanted to get parts that hopefully last for a looong time, especially with the 4080s i hope that gets me 5 years especially with the cpu, 28t and high boost clocks should do me good. I wanted to also get a psu that can last future generations so 1000w is what i thought i should go with. But please share your thoughts!

Thank you

Sorry i will elaborate, 1440p gaming and video editing, rendering, some side animation (think it will be fun), and budget is about 14-1500 for everything except the gpu (already bought the 4080s)

CPU that's easier to tame, faster SSD's w/DRAM cache, better psu imo, and a case that's easier to work with, especially if using an AIO. btw Teamgroup uses SK Hynix modules for their DDR5 sets so you're good there.

The PSU is a bit excessive.

Given the other parts, you might consider better performing NVMe drives with on-drive cache. Won't make a big difference, but then neither will the memory or PSU.

The purchased CPU frame is not useable with the Liquid Freezer III as it comes with an Arctic frame that must be used.

No need for the Kyronaugt thermal compound as the CPU cooler comes with a tube of Arctic compound.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

which nvme drives should i consider? I saw the value and speeds of the teamgroup ssds to be better than the 980/990 pro from samsung. I am also buying the contact frame just to have. I have an air cooler i might use until arctic fixes the frame issue with the lf3 for intel mounting (uneven paste distribution) due to it being screwed in from 2 sides and not the 4 corners like the lf2

Nothing wrong with the MP44 drives. But the memory kit is far from a value proposition which is confusing.

I hope Arctic will quickly fix the frame issue, but I won't hold my breath.

Oh you said to get dram cache ssd and i was like whaaaat lol, what did you mean by that? And in my last build i had the t create expert kit but i was told this should be hynix A die since its cl34 7200mhz. I really want rgb cause im going for subtle lighting in my build this time

Higher-end NVMe drives have a DRAM cache on the stick. It can make a difference with heavy write loads.

Nothing wrong with using RGB memory modules with an AIO. At the moment I generally stick to DDR5-6000 CL 30 as this seems to be well priced and very stable. Going up to DDR5-7200 may rely a bit too much on the silicon lottery, i.e. getting a CPU with an above average memory controller.

do you mind linking an ssd 1 tb or 2tb with the dram cache on the stick please?
