Randomly found out that my Dell Optiplex 3050 support ECC, should i use it for a 4 drives TrueNas?

I'm planning on getting a new nas soon. My initial idea was use my old workstation that i don't use anymore

CPU: i7 7700
MB: Rog Strix z270f
Ram: DDR4 Ballstix non ecc 24 GB
PSU: Smart SE

However today i realized that my Dell Optiplex 3050 does support ecc and have a decent cpu as well, i3-7100T.

# Board: Dell Inc. 0JP3NX
# Kernel: 5.10.0-23-amd64 x86_64
# Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100T CPU @ 3.40GHz (6/158/9)

The only issue is that afaik there's no SATA ports on the mb. There's an NVME slot tho.
My idea would be to use an NVME to Sata adapter but i guess is not recomended

https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0CVKQ3M5M that the adapter i would use

What the best way to attach 4 drives to it?

Thanks a lot

A 7100T is not a decent CPU and while it does support ECC, I would be *deeply* surprised to find that the mobo and BIOS support it.

As for how to attach, I'd probably go with an HBA and SATA breakout cables.

Decent I think it's relative.

A dual core with hyperthreading would be fine for a basic nas.

Non ecc ram is totally fine. ECC is a nice to have but unless it is in a higher interference environment it is highly unlikely that it would be an issue.

I have had many systems with basic ddr4 ram for years and never ram into issues with any of them.
