Advice on a new monitor

Lukeas

Hey all!

I’m in need of a bit of help choosing a new gaming monitor as mine is getting on a bit.

(must be about 10 years old now)

my requirements and key info are:

-needs to be 21/24”max due to space limitations(my set up is in a cupboard!)

-im from the UK so need to be available here

-mainly used on PS5 but do need to use it with my pc aswell (not sure if this makes any difference)

-not sure if I need 4k? 240hz?etc

-budget about £300/£400

Thanks in advance!

Luke

There aren't any high refresh rate 4K monitors at 24" and high refresh rate. What are the priorities?

As there's not really any well known 1440p monitors with the noted requirements.

I'd personally go for - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/R94Ycf/asus-tuf-gaming-vg249qm1a-238-1920-x-1080-270-hz-monitor-90lm06j0-b023b0

Unfortunately your size requirements really limit available options. Most 2k or higher resolution monitors with high refresh rates are going to be a minimum of 27". The very small few that are 24" are either not available in the UK or are over your budget.

I'd argue that even 1440p at 24" is a bit overkill, especially considering the prices compared to 1080p very high refresh-rate monitors, but I guess it's all up to OP.

(You'd get two 23.8" 1920 x 1080 270 Hz Monitors for the price of the AOC 24" 1440p 144Hz one.) KOORUI GP01 @ 1440p is a dark horse though.

Yeh I know the size issue is a pain, ideally I’d have a 27” as that’s really the sweet spot but just don’t have the space for it currently.
I mainly play FPS games and things like spider man/GTA. To be fair my currently 1080p monitor like I said is about 10 years old so anything new that you’re suggesting will be a huge noticeable upgrade.

Then I'd still suggest Asus TUF Gaming VG249QM1A. Though that's only by specs, if someone has some solid info that it's no good, let's hear it?

Edit:  "GUTTED! DOES NOT SUPPORT 120HZ OR VRR ON PS5! WHAT A JOKE!"

So let's put then on hold, sorry!

I edited a bit my last post - that monitor I first suggested didn't support 120Hz perhaps.

The second in line imo would be - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/cYpzK8/asus-tuf-gaming-vg249q1a-238-1920-x-1080-165-hz-monitor-vg249q1a

I'm no expert at monitors, just an amateur

Awesome! That one looks good to me, really reasonably priced aswell.

thank you so much for your help appreciate it!
