Google: Ads on Glass and thermostats are a possibility

Basically, Google sent a letter, that was discovered by The Wall Street Journal, to the Securities and Exchange Commision back in december, arguing that they don't have to specify their revenues on mobile ads. 

One of their arguments is that it's difficult to indicate mobile devices, because the definition keeps on changing due to constant developments in the technological market. 

Google uses possible future examples such as fridges, thermostats, dashboards, glasses and watches.

Even though Google doesn't have real plans for ads on these kinds of devices yet, the letter does make clear that Google is thinking about it.

 

Personally, I think this could be quite real, especially with Google Glass getting closer and closer, Android Wear launching soon and the fact that Google recently acquired Nest, which for the people that don't know, produces smart thermostats. Every time I hear something like this I just can't help but think about that Futurama episode with the Lightspeed Briefs.
