Will my storage devices affect my new PC?

Mando772004

Im getting a new PC soon but i had issues on my older pc with games stuttering and sometimes even small freezes on my windows. i only want to transfer the drives from my older pc to my newer one but i am afraid that that could replicate the problems i had. is it safe or should i just buy new drives? they are 4 drives, 1xm.2 sata 1x m.2nvme and 2x HDD. i dont even care about whats on them i can easily back it up so i was thinking about maybe resetting all of them then transferring them to the new pc but im not sure if this is worth it. Im kind of in a pickle here on what i should do so any help is appreciated.

Just check the smart info on the drives, and if there's nothing wrong with them, go for it. You can always just remove the drives later if they cause any issues.

you could perhaps get a new drive for OS, and isolate the problematic drives,

or use the newest drive for it - so that the stutters aren't present due to windows doing anything on the affected drive, but only when working with files or apps on the affected drive

Unless the drive is dying or infested with malware it will not affect the new machine.
