CPU Overclocking long term negative effects

Ive been running my Ryzen 7 5700G with a NH-D15 for a year now, on a constant Voltage of about 1.45625 Volts and 4675Mhz 25Mhz over the stock specs, and never thermally managed to get it to Thermal throttle, max temps ive seen were ~85°. now ive come up on a video from Techquicky, saying, undervolting with the same performance with less power usage and all that stuff, how does that look in my case? i dont really necessarly use my cpu at 100% mostly, just 30% or more for game loading. none of the programms crashed with these clocks & voltages, but I kinda started to worry, about the lifespan. the internet is telling me to stay under 1.45v, some telling me 1.5v with good cooling is "safe", im really just confused. can a expert, or a experienced person tell me, whats good, what bad for this config of a overclocking?

With temps controlled as they are, it's probably fine as it is; it seems like a waste of power for 25Mhz over stock, though. It would be better to use the PBO2 auto overclock feature in Ryzen Master (or bios), you can set it to boost 200 MHz over stock to both increase performance and save power when you aren't boosting.

then don't overclock it. return to stock speeds seeing as you aren't actually using the cpu enough to even get close to it's maximum stock speed.

Games will load 1-8+ cores to 80-100%, most tend towards the lower end so total CPU usage will appear low, but the chip is boosting to full clocks and games will see gains from the cores running faster. 

 

That said, typically a 200Mhz+ boost is what's noticeable to the end user without a bunch of careful benchmarking and comparing single digit fps differences, so I'm going to echo @NikolakiH on that being a waste of power for an imperceptible boost.

From what I have read you do not want to run 1.45v or higher as a constant voltage on these Ryzen chips. I believe it was due to current draw or something, when running stock they do pull that voltage or higher, but usually not under heavy load (voltages will drop back down when running auto). I don't have much experience overclocking anything past Zen+ (where the limit was 1.4v or so, if memory serves I ran 1.425v early on but that was later discovered to degrade the Zen/Zen+ chips slightly) so I can't personally confirm that. In general, overclocking most Ryzen chips seems useless unless you need the slight gains in allcore performance (as noted, your games are not loading all cores), as PBO will typically reach the same boost clocks on the cores games are actually using, and can often do so with less voltage than stock, keeping the chip cooler and safer.

Voltage alone wont do it, you need Amps to kill it, so with Temps controled and the Amps more or less under control its fine. 

 

I was running my 3900x at 4.7 all core for some time and no issues. 

 

My 5800x3d I have it on stock voltage but I let it eat all the juice it wants and I have the clock gen at 102 so it has more clock then stock all core. No issues, But I have a big water loop .

Amps come from the load, good thing you don’t work your computer very hard, 1.45 is a lot of static volts. Letting the board push to 1.5 is one thing, but you running it at 1.5 is bad. But I wouldn’t give a fuck about that cpu personally, so I would probably run it anyways.

i mean, AMD cpus do run higher voltage on idle, than while usage, so i guess its fine on the other side, however, its as i mentioned, fix voltage of 1.45v and when i load the cpu, it stays 1.45v but do get higher cinebench score and like ~15% more game performance. so is it safe to use this type of OC for like ~3 years?
