Cheap UPS or no UPS at all?

Walter H.W.

Hey guys,

I've an "old" UPS that is 600VA/360W, it doesn't keep my pc on when electricity goes off since long time but it still "works", now I'm building a new pc (with better PSU etc..) so I'm not sure if I should keep using it or not, note that my pc has a 450W PSU.

IMO it should still be better than nothing because it gives "cleaner" power than the one straight from the wall socket but I'd like to know your opinions about this.

Also, does the fact that it's only 360W interfere with normal use? I've been using crappy PSUs of "600W" and never had a problem, as far as I know, so my answer would be no, maybe because 360W are used only when there's no electricity?

Thanks.

I am the one who knocks.

I kinda of agree with you, that's why I can't understand why others say nothing is better without even explaining it..
