Windows 10 or 11?

I recently built a new pc and immediately installed Windows 10 because that's what I'm used to and I've never used Windows 11 

I get the constant recommend windows 11 upgrade. Anyways I'm curious what your guys's opinions are. Is it difficult to learn and which one do you think is better should I upgrade or would it be considered a downgrade?

Its pretty darn simmilar OS wise, nothing really to relearn.

 

I'd say might as well upgrade now, your gonna have to in about 2 years anyways to stay on a supported OS, and there are a few nice features like autoHDR.

Windows 11 has been the standard for a while now, there isn't much to learn. If you can use 10, you can use 11. On the outside some elements have a bit of a different look but at the core its all the same. 

(note: threads exactly like yours pop up at least once a week and we always have the same answer)

It's Windows.  There isn't anything to learn with 11.

 

It's like buying a 2010 car and then a 2023 car.  You drive.  🙂

 

And yes, 11 is better for gaming or will be as the years pass.

from my testing, the good of windows 11 is that they've done real well with the windows update process and driver handling...

 

but, there's several things i dont like:

- the centered taskbar bugs me, but at least you can align left in configuration.

- bing integration straight up offends me.

- the start menu is worse™

- rounded corners cutting pixels off the viewport offend me even more than bing integration

- search is so bad i suggest installing powertoys to use that search, because microsoft's search is worse than <other microsoft's search>...

 

and probably a bunch more stuff i forget...

 

having all that said.. dont "upgrade" to windows 11.. i've seen enough upgrades fail to tell you you should make backups of everything anyways, and at that point you may as well go clean.

What are you doing that's difficult in 11?  

 

May be your not the average user.   Average folks find it perfectly fine, we use it at work for example.  Great got anything we do.

Windows 11 was so bad I switched to Linux. LOL!

 

If you plan on using Windows in the future, getting used to W11 and its quirks is a must. You'll eventually get used to it though.

 

The main reason I switched was because of ideological differences between me and the OS.

Well, I hate Win11.

First and foremost is start menu.

 

It is called "Start Menu" cause it is place from where you START using your PC.

 

You can't start anything from Win11 start menu.

 

On my Win10, start menu has useful shortcut and apps which I don't want on my desktop and I don't want to search for them in "start->apps".

 

Nothing new in Win11 though except prettier GUI.

 

Oh yeah.

They are spying you 48/7.

Win10 also, but 24/7.

If u know what I mean...

I heard that coffee's good for my sex life.

 

It isn't.

It kept me awake through the whole damn thing!

I actually had to participate.
