The other end of the cables have to either be plugged into a switch or router already on the LAN.

Yup, that's fine for a switch, it's gigabit and unmanaged so simple to use 😄

Right from the wall provided the switch plugs into the main router.

One of the routers LAN ports merely needs to plug into the switch somewhere.  Either directly, or from one of those wall plates.

When nothing is plugged in on the either side nothing lights up

Correct, there is no signal so the port doesn't light up.

So even the link going from the router to the switch doesn't have lights?

Wait, your router doesn't have any internet connection from the pictures, you'll need to connect the white router to the ISP's network as well.

Chatted on discord with OP, seems this might be an issue with the ISP router since even bypassing the switch and wall and plugging the laptop directly into a port did nothing.

Did they plug anything into the modem’s gray WAN port? Or is that an LTE modem?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

It's a fiber ONT and the fiber port is on the bottom.

They updated on Discord where they had the switch in port 1 on the LAN and moved it to port 2 on the LAN ports and for some reason that works. Port 3 is reserved for IPTV apparently and 4 gives issues too, lol
