Billet labs auction "junk"

Jared_Reabow

I attended the first LTX back in 2017, flew there from the UK.

My observations were that the company is run by people who want to be serious but also want to have fun.

This means that personally opinions and biases can effect operations and processes detrimentally just as much as it can effect them positively.

You can't have the good parts without the bad parts, meaning you can't shoot down the way the company and individuals behaved as systematic problems if you also support their same behaviours in other situations. At best you can say this was an oversight or error that needs to be corrected.

I won the Auction for a broken 10tb hdd they used on their oil PC, at the time of winning I knew it was "Junk", now although I was actually able to repair it and still use it, this item shows LTT will sell "JUNK" willingly, and sometimes sell things that aren't junk unknowingly.

Having read several comments from people stating LTT sold it as "junk" egregiously, or maliciously, I say that is nonsense, and more specifically, don't attribute to malice what can as easily be attributed to ignorance; specifically there is a good possibility a number of these actions were due to a breakdown in information communication and not intentional acts of harm.

We all know these are 'junk'

It's for decluttering, raising money for charity and 'trophy collection' for fans that won (Congrats, mate) decades to come, so I would say it's a win-win situation

The only time it would be a problem is if those junks are wrapped as used-like-new product, added LTT logo to artificially inflate the price and then claim for innovation or something similar to that

In my opinion, the type of being mentioned here is actually a collectible for many. to have a piece of tech used in an LTT video can be collected for someone's personal collection.

You're not buying tech, you're buying memorabilia. Someone actually bought Whonnock to use as a server, which is a TERRIBLE idea. You're buying it because its Whonnock, not because its a usable server.

One persons junk could be another persons treasure. I spotted a Facebook listing for a computer case with LTT signatures.  Most people would prefer to spend that kind of money on new hardware. Maybe someone would hang it up on a wall like a painting and not see it as an ugly eyesore.
