Cleaning Corrosion in GPU block

Hi all,

I'm looking to clean this gpu block and put it into a new loop, but I've noticed these dark spots that don't seem to want to come off.

I'm assuming this is corrosion of the nickel-plated copper. My question here is would cleaning this off completely be possible/necessary to use the block moving forward? And is it "safe" to use this in a loop with new components?

Thank you for any advice

that's not corrosion, that's a deposit of *something*, which tbh looks like it was smeared there to hide something else.

either way, luck is you, and you can use some quite aggressive stuff to clean metal, assuming you can disassemble the block all the way.

i'd say start with isopropyl and scrubbing, if that fails i'd go some kitchen degreaser, if that fails there's stuff like sticker remover (which is basicly low-grade gasoline)
