Best sub 400$ monitor

Mixzzz

So I'm trying to choose a monitor with 400$ budget. My requirements are 1440p, 27-32in, at least 120hz monitor. Main uses are gaming and work(Mostly working with spreadsheets and translating documents). So far googling the best options, it seems that I've landed on GigaByte M27Q however people say that this monitor won't have the best text clarity which kinda makes it problem. Is it really that bad? What other decent options do I have?

The original M27Q has BGR subpixels, that's why it didn't have best text clarity. The updated variant called M27Q-P fixed subpixels to RGB (and other minor upgrades) so it should have ideal text clarity like any other 1440p 27 inch monitors.

best sub 400 would probably still be the mag274qrf-qd, though if you wish to save a bit, can't go wrong with the m27q-p.

though at current pricing the m27t20 basically gets you the best 27inch panel for 460usd.

At 27" i'd recommend the LG 27GP850-B.

At 32" i'd recommend the LG 32GP83B-B.

Both are great monitors so pick your size preference.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Sadly M27Q-P is not available where I live, says out of stock everywhere.

The MSI one is more like 500$ in EU and can't find m27t20

Hmm, to me it seems that 27GP850-B seems to be almost worse in everything except for text clarity when compared to M27Q when comparing them in rtings. Like less contrast, less bright etc. Or in reality that wouldn't be noticeable?

It's a bit worse and hardly noticeable. Comparing to VA panel it would definitely be noticeable as they usually have around 1:2500-1:4000 contrast ratio. As for brightness it wouldn't matter, unless you really need to raise up to 100% for a reason.

Generally 27GP850 have better response time compared to M27Q so yes it's worth considering.

the LG has better response time and slightly better color coverage, but the contrast is pretty bad, is overall the better monitor would not recommend in a dark room, the m27Q-P is decent at everything.

Ok...Basically the only 2 decent options are M27Q and 27GP850? Cause everything else I've been looking at seems to be worse than either of these 2.

Yeah, This would be a great option however I can't find it in stock anywhere in EU.

There's a lot of decent 1440p 144hz+ IPS monitors out there such as LG 27GL850/27GL83, 27GN800, 27GP850/27GP83, Gigabyte M27Q-P, Asus VG27AQ, Dell S2721DGF, MSI MAG274QRF-QD, Acer Nitro XV272U and several more I missed out.

What are you looking for exactly? Highest refresh rate? Cheapest? Best ergonomics?

For example me and my siblings went with S2721DGF because it was cheapest in my country and I can rotate to portrait mode either way without needing to buy VESA stand.

Well, I was going for 27, 1440p 120hz+ within 400$ and most of these were either not available or had some sort of big con. Anyway, I just checked and somehow one of my local stores got 1 M27Q-P apparently in stock so I ordered it and I'll see if they can actually deliver it.

Also, according to rtings M27Q isn't that bad at native scaling regarding text clarity and not bad at all with cleartype so that would fit me but what's even better news is that apparently M27Q rev 2.0 has RGB pixel layout and should perform just as well so I'll probably just order the M27Q if the P variant isn't available.
