Posted July 19, 2023 MB: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX The screw I marked in the photo is completely stuck. I've tried screwing counter-clockwise and also clockwise without it rotating a single degree. I've tried to unscrew it so hard I end up just scratching the screw instead. How do I take off the cover? I've heard you're supposed to loosen it up and take off the cover with the screw, but the screw doesn't get loose, it can't be rotated a single degree as I said before. The screwdriver seems to fit pretty good with only being a little smaller than the gaps in the screw.
 Posted July 19, 2023 It's possible the screw was secured with something like Loctite, which is basically special adhesive to secure screws. I would try something like getting a hair dryer or hot-air gun, and warming the screw. This will cause the metal to expand (don't cook the screw so much you damage your board btw). Try loosening it right after heating it. If that doesn't work, let it cool down, then try again. How does the screw head look? You said it's scratched. Did you strip the screw head? I pressed down hard and it still slips and like I said I stripped the screw a bit. I’m not gonna screw harder than this because motherboards are probably far from durable. You need to get the proper sized bit or screw driver for the job. Posted July 23, 2023 I have a similar board and had no problem taking those screws out. Did you try the elastic band trick? Get a nice thick one and put it between the screw and the screw driver. I do this for stripped strews. Don't know if it would help in your case but worth a try I guess?
 I used the correct screwdriver this whole time. The screws the same size are unscrewable with the screwdriver that didn’t work with the first one. There’s got to be a warranty or something in case the screw is actually broken.
