I am a photographer and I edit and enhance numerous photos.

Hello and hopefully I can get some help from you fellows.

So, I just built a new pc, and I am running into some lagging issues when I use my Wacom PTH-651 tablet and pen to edit, develop and process images. I have XMP enabled, and I was told by Micro Center that I should not need to overclock for performance but when I mask or use content aware tool in Photoshop, it begins to slow down, and it is as if it is catching up with my brush strokes.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Joe Vidal

And they are right, you shouldn't need to in the days of multi-core multi-Ghz systems.

Do you have full hardware/graphics acceleration enabled? E.g., in Lightroom, it would be under your Preferences > Performance tab:

Whatever option it is currently, do the opposite & restart, and see what happens (e.g, if it's already enabled > disable it).
