How to cancel a software update?

I have finally after much struggle, managed to downgrade my phone. However I didn't know to turn off the option that will auto install a software update. When I caught the update, I paused it and turned the auto install option off. Though I couldn't find an option to cancel it, might any of you have any idea?

Find the updater component in all apps from the settings, force stop it and clear its data

I'd simply try rebooting the phone.
