Who's got a decent sound system? Post it here

Fast_N_Curious

All those speakers and no identifying text to tell us what it all is...  Was it for the matching cones? 🙂

I am confused, as I don't equate a LOT of speakers to a good system.  Can you elaborate as to what you have?

I personally only have a Mirage 3.1 system in my living room and a pair of Mackie CR5BT in my office.

The boombox speaker on the left is not part of the system.

2x Polk R200
2x ELAC OW 4.2
2x Emotiva B1+

SVS PB1000 + SVS PB12-NSD

4x Klipsch Quintet Satellite speakers

3x tactile transducers

Marantz SR6015 AVR

I have 5 2" thick sound panels scattered throughout the room plus a bunch of "randomly" shaped foam wall panels for higher frequency stuff.
I have an unused Emotiva C1+. It's not bad but the 2x Polk R200 do a better job than using a center channel.

Music will either be played in stereo or using atmos upmixing.

Things with "echo" sound effects tend to be played in stereo (e.g. Flyday Chinatown). Things which are "spacious" tend to be played using atmos upmixing (e.g. Bubbles by Yosi Horikawa).

Next upgrade will likely either be a pair of Polk R100 speakers. In the short term they'd replace the Emotivas. In the longer term they'd serve as wides for the front sound stage. If I got REALLY ambitious and had more money than sense I'd likely get a pair of R700s plus some more subwoofers (so 4x SB1000 or PB1000 [SO is currently borrowing one] in total, in the corners)

3900x | 32GB RAM | RTX 2080

1.5TB Optane P4800X | 2TB Micron 1100 SSD | 16TB NAS w/ 10Gbe
QN90A | Polk R200, ELAC OW4.2, PB12-NSD, SB1000, HD800

Yamaha RX-A680 receiver

Totem Dreamcatcher L/R

Totem Dreamcatcher C

Klipsch Surrounds from a 5.1 kit

Klipsch Reference 12" Subwoofer

5.1 dolby surround for general audio stuff, movies, TV shows, 5 channel stereo mode for music. Need to replace the surrounds at some point, but it's not a super high priority, they're decent enough for now.
