Prj2 'Downtown' - [COMPLETED]

ToddK

A quick sneak peek at some of the base color for the 'old factory / boiler room' look for the inside of the case. Will be working on distressing the paint this week. We'll see how she goes.

Wow, rivets in acrylic... brave man. :D

I would probably have put washers or even a metal plate between the

rivet heads and the acrylic for peace of mind, but hey, if it works,

it works.

Lol, yeah I was freaked out the whole time.  I think the top wasn't really a problem as it was just flat pressure pushing downwards.  I think where you really have to be careful is the bottom where the rivet spreads outward.  I'm thinking the hinge effectively worked like the washer you were suggesting, keeping the rivet from widening and busting the acrylic itself.

It would be sweet if everyone created a city full of buildings that are actually computers, then have the plumbing be water cooling and cool all of them! :P

I would SO like to get some water cooling in this build.  Kind of waiting on the budget to justify it right now, but some copper hardlining would look crazy awesome in it.

Holy crap! This is awsome! My parents are achitects and I've should them your build, and they said it was really nice. You could buy a projector and make it look like a cinema. You should really get a prize for it.

That's a cool idea. :)  I'm set for fans right now, but we'll have to see how things play out.

Spent the day stripping down the foam & resetting it. Need to affix things permanently.

Did a little re-design work on the front panels.  Making it more like a commercial building foyer down front.  Added a little business sign.  Thinking I could add a few on each side.  Now to figure out what businesses...  ;)

Here are a bunch of shots.  Enjoy!
