i d just get 3 korean 1440p monitors for the same price, way more space to work and you don t rly see the bars when running a eyefinity setup anyway.

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

Does anyone know of a UK link? - Ordering from the US to the UK is just ridiculous with all the import charges and extra taxes they throw on it!

--EDIT--

I found it on Amazon.co.uk:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-Electronics-34UM95-P-AEU-34UM95-P/dp/B00HG7EB64/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399554051&sr=8-1&keywords=LG+Electronics+UM95+34UM95

Still £900, about what it would cost to import it from the US anyway.

Linus mentions that he would like to see it slightly bent.

Well,  I've just crunched the numbers and guess what? Currently, at standard 70 cm viewing distance, display is covering 59° of HFOV.
IF display was slightly curved (radius of curvature = 70cm), it would cover 65° of HFOV.

So, increase of 10% in HFOV, just by slightly bending this thing.

well beeing harder to run is a plus as it means more pixel and screen size for your money. it s literally the same price for almost 2.5x the screen size and pixels.

the only downsides is the sh***** stands and it s not calibrated.

lame, they finally caved in and dropped the price to 1k to match B&H

I already pre-ordered with B&H, and they say orders won't ship till ~21st :(

good for everyone else though I guess

If only VESA and a normal stand.

It has a VESA mount.

I don't get why people like this to be honest.

It's really expensive, stupid aspect ratio for most things, bad stand, no special features (like good color accuracy, or G-sync, or high refresh rate etc), it's not that big etc.

It's just a really expensive monitor with a bad aspect ratio.

It's not a plus at all. It means you have to get another video card (it's harder to run than 4k), bigger power supply, can't go with smaller cases, the list goes on.

Korean panels aren't all that. They're the reject panels. Their OSD is severely lacking. They have poor warranty support. As you said they're not calibrated which can matter on a monitor of this size.

This is a more cohesive package.

It's not so expensive if you really think about it. It's a good IPS panel. It has good color accuracy, so I'm not sure what you're on about there. Also again..IPS. High refresh rates aren't there on other IPS panels either.

It's not big? You're kidding. Look at it. It spans a pretty vast area. I like the size because you don't have to turn your head too far to see the whole screen, which I find more ideal.

The aspect ratio can be changed which is a nice touch...though if you were mostly using it in this format yeah, it's not the smartest purchase.

The stand I don't see as a huge issue. If you're spending the money on a monitor like this and don't like it the extra $100 for an adjustable one really isn't a huge stretch.

For me, this is the perfect monitor. I can look at web pages side by side for comparisons, or have a spreadsheet open and browse beside it.

I was originally going to go with two 24" 1080p monitors. This is only going to cost about $200 more, and I get a much nicer resolution for when I decide to game.

If I were looking at 2 27" monitors at 1440p, I'd be spending around $150 more for honestly not much more useability for what I do.

I'm ready for the ultra wide tvs to start showing up.  I think that would be awesome.  they are perfect for video editing and opening multiple excel documents but the web browsing just looks weird.

Not so expensive? The Dell U2713HM is almost half the price. You could get a 30" 2560x1600 for the same price (which would actually be bigger than a 34" 21:9 monitor).

The U2713HM is also LARGER (in cm2) if you display 16:9 or narrower content (which, let's face it, most content is). I don't really see 21:9 as being that useful. Most website are designed for 1024x768 displays still, which means that 2560x1440 is more than enough for 2 web pages side by side (even 1920x1080 is usually enough for that). Most videos are 16:9 so you will have huge black bars in a lot of stuff, gaming support seems pretty limited, a lot of websites will just display longer rows of text (which is actually pretty bad) or more dead space.

Trust me, if you're planning on having website open for side by side comparisons, or spreadsheets and a browser open at the same time, just get two monitors. It is far better. Multiple monitors are better for productivity.

You could get one U2713HM and two Dell U2414H for just 130 dollars more (which would probably be what a decent mount for the LG monitor would cost). Or just two U2713HM....

I just don't get why anyone would want this for 1000 dollars when 2560x1440 monitors are so much cheaper, and far better support in terms of content.
