I torrented windows 7 and used a usb download tool to put it on a flash drive with all the correct drivers and stuff, I booted to the flash drive and got to the window where you are supposed to select the drive you want to install the os on. When I selected the main HDD and clicked next I got this \/

"Windows is unable to install to the selected location 0x80300024"

I googled some stuff and people said to make sure there are not any other drives plugged in so I took out the flack drive, unplugged the cd-rom drive, and tried again...i got this \/

"Windows is unable to install to the selected location 0x80300001"

the second error code ends in 01 not 24 for some reason so I did some more research and nothing worked

please help this is a build for a friend...

Might be a bad torrent

Yeah, some parts may fail to download or are wasted.

Dude... Just buy a Windows license or go and use Linux.  I wish I could help but I cannot, what I will say is its probably filled with viruses and you've probably infected something on the core of your hard drive and you need to somehow safely clean it with diskpart on a different computer.

I have downloaded several torrent images and just used codes I already have or others have. So that part isn't illegal. But I agree on using offical or semi-offical sites. One thing is though that boot device itself is wrong type. It should just hold "burned" image, nothing else. Then there's change that drive needs to be repartioned or formatted before it can be selected.
