Ryzen 7 3700X on ASUS TUF B450M-PRO S GAMING motherboard?

Hello!

I recently started putting together a PC that will be my home server/rendering/remote gaming desktop. I bought a R7 1700 used but the mail lost it, and I now see a listing for a R7 3700X for essentially the same price. Will my MOBO be able to handle this CPU without any trouble? I know it might/will require a BIOs update, but can the BIOs flashback handle that?

EDIT: Heres a picture of the CPU, and what is all that brown stuff? Is this thing just burnt? lol

it shoudl work idk what that brown stuff is tho and u cant see inscribing in the ihs. where r u buying it from?
