Anyways, yes it looks like an i5 but from what I can tell a 2400, so that's pretty old and will limit your RTX2060. Upgrade would be good but I mean you can still play games on it just fine. Just make sure your PSU is decent enough for the GPU.

RTX 2060 came out in 2018, its newer and still plenty usable. Actually, that particular card is even newer if its the 12GB. Those came out in 2021. The GTX 650 came out in 2012 and is definitely not worth your time or money as you won't really be able to do anything on it, so don't bother.

 

The i5-2400 you have now is from like 2011. Of course a newer i5 is better, but you realize that is not socket compatible with the motherboard that you took that i5-2400 out of right? You would need a whole new motherboard and possibly RAM.

 

What is your budget and what are you trying to do?

If people know what you are trying to accomplish then they can give you meaningful suggestions on how to best utilize your budget to accomplish that. Talking about random individual parts with no context is a waste of time.

Forget upgrading the processor. The best you can get with that dead platform is i7-7700k? i7-3770k? and that still suck compare to newer gen processor.

With that amount of money I suggest you buy a new Core i5-12400f + B660 board + 16GB/32GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM or a Ryzen r5-5600 + B450/B550 board + 16GB/32GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM

Exactly. Just coming in here and posting a processor and asking if it is better is completely unhelpful. You literally cannot use it with that motherboard you have right now. Its incompatible.

 

Whatever platform you are on for the i5-2400 is so old, it cannot physically take a newer processor than Ivy Bridge. After that the socket changes multiple times (typically each socket supports 2 generations). So we are many chipsets and CPU sockets from what you are currently on.

 

So, if you are asking what you need to upgrade, it will be CPU/motherboard/RAM. @xAcid9 provided some great suggestions.

Fam the GTX 650 is 11 years old (maybe as old as you? lol)

Its like comparing an old i5 2500K to a modern I5 13600K

If you don't want a used pc you can look for an I3 10100/I5 12400 and a cheap B460/B560 boards

Should be cheaper then 12th and 13th gen and it will still give you a huge fps boost and very solid performance on cpu bound games like gta (or fivem, same shit)

Socket types and motherboard chipsets. But easiest to figure out is socket types.

 

For Intel, you have an i5-2400. It was released in 2011 and is a Sandy Bridge product. Sandy Bridge was the code name for that architecture/generation of Intel Core processors.
