My computer won't start. First EVER build :(

skaran27

Guys my computer won't start and I made the mistake of plugging and installing everything first. Here is my question, I installed the 24 pin connector and the 12v power at the top of the motherboard. I made sure I connected all the power and led pins correctly installed my gpu correctly what could be the problem any suggestions?

Here's some pictures: http://imgur.com/0VKBs6Z,fqImWNv,EJ2bW8J,2DestCi ---------This shows the 12v cable plugged in at top of the motherboard.

Make sure the switch at the power supply is turned on.

Make sure the pins for the power switch are fully inserted.

I'll start off by asking some simple troubleshooting questions

-Does the computer not even turn on? (No fans spinning, no noise etc)

-what are the specs of the build?

-Is there a power switch on the  Motherboard?

-Do any fans spin when you push the button?

Hope I could help!

Yes it is.

Make sure the switch at the power supply is turned on.

Make sure the pins for the power switch are fully inserted.

It is.

Ok did you use CPU power cable to the 8 pin cpu instead of PCI 8 pin

Yes, I plugged in the CPU power cable where it says CPU and to the PCI

Does not turn on at all. No power, no fans. There is a power switch on motherboard when I hit it nothing happens. Here are the specs.http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3CTPE

Have you tried turning it on with the Motherboard outside the case with only CPU and RAM connected? (PSU plugged in)

Hope I could help!

no thats the thing I installed the CPU cooler and everything I want to see if I can find the problem before I have to do that. Plus this CPU doesn't come with a stock cooler so that would be hard.

Not much else we can tell ya other than perhaps a DOA part (hope it's not that because that's a PITA) or being there in person.
