So, that leads me back to the 1DXIII and R5, what do you think?

I don't like mirrorless cameras. I've tried several, I don't care for them. Traditional dSLR all the way for me

Mirrorless just sucks battery in general.

I see, I do want a mk3 due to live view having eye track and I do remember the mk3 has a touchscreen. But the mk2 is a absolute unit and a good camera have fun with that workhorse.

(No wonder why when I did that event you commented.)

Huh?

Hmm I do remember a opposite were sony had a live view that the mirror was still down and used the DSLR af.

I believe the R6 II has better battery life going off reviews.

The 1DXII as it has some touchscreen capacity, but is not completely touchscreen from what I've seen tutorials online talking about the camera. Mainly in video it has it but not others.

I'm referring to the Mode dial on the Nikon mirrorless cameras. Nikon's mode dial isn't flush with the top of the camera, where Canon does. Had to look it up what the dial I'm referring to is (I don't shoot Nikon, sorry).

I see I am fine with the one on my 70d as its locking. Buts its personal preference.

This thread reminds me why Igot my 70d, I wanted a apsc at the time as I didn't have any full frame glass. (Made no sense as i got my 70d with a kit lens but helped when I accidentally smashed the one I got with my 70d)

I like the flippy screen I thought the hinge wouldn't put up to the abuse I put an cameras but its holding up perfectly. ( wanted a 7dmk2 probably gonna get one as a backup/secondary body).

I also remember I wanted dual pixel as I do some filming and wanted it as I do so much fast paced.

So the 1DXII's LCD has touchscreen control in Live View mode and Movie shooting, but is disabled using the menu system to go between different menus and instead must use the dials. In case you wanted to know.

I have the tilt screen on my 6DII (FF) and performs great, especially for video shooting albeit in 1080 quality. The mode dial on the R5 felt very flimsy and wanting to shear off when turning the dial...really disappointed when I had that camera and felt the overall build quality dropped compared to DSLRs, especially with that high price tag. The tilt screen was just as bad with side way movement compared to the one on the 6DII.

I remembered this which made no sense as navigating memus can be a pain but canons menus are nice so its not a big deal.

I know this is old I am super sorry, but I would get the 1dx mk3, the AF in the 1dx series is stupid good. The mk3 in live view basically has a r3 eye track and full mirrorless AF functionalty.

I have shot with the R6 and love the grip, didnt shoot enough to see battery life, I would get the adapter if going mirrorless.

I love the canon mirrorless as the egronomics are like DSLR's.

When I was using the 1dxmk2 the owner was using a z6 or some kind of nikion mirrorless, but the nikion mirrorless is not good the camera basically dictates when you shoot. Canon didnt have that I think (shot some astro but dont remember minor things). Panasonic isnt fun as it also dectates to shoot (bassicaly in manuel you have to put shutter speed in a bracket that the camera puts for you) and is a absaloute pain to focus as it only does auto on some lenses.

I do find 20mp to be enough for some cropping and I feel like its the goldylocks of MP.

I have a r5 and a few other canons, and I'd say the r5 is much better than any dslr when it comes to af performance. You can set the af to almost anywhere instead of near the middle, you can focus at f22, and the subject tracking is pretty amazing. I have used the face detect in traditional af on a 5d4 and its fine, but nothing compared to a r5.

I wish the r5 was built more like the 5d4, it just doesn't feel as rugged and I don't see a benefit to it being a bit smaller.

I'd get a r5 over a 1dx3, but thats me who really likes there r5.

I was thinking of eye track in the R3...

I discovered live view AF is pretty good but I tend to use like f2.8 or F4....

But its just me.

Fair, at this point I am still happy with my 70D.

Ah TFW2005. My old stomping grounds. Posted there a lot up until around 2010. I still keep in touch with some of the people from the ol' boards.
