God damn it Google...Really?

The new Google Drive app update really has me angry, disappointed, and generally angered.

 

 

      After the update I tried to edit a document in Google Docs for school. I tapped the pencil icon and was greeted with a dialog box that said I had to install some new "Docs" app to edit. Really Google? I want simple, intuitive integration into the Drive app itself and not have to go to another app to WRITE IN A GOD DAMNED DOCUMENT. (My dad refused to install the app for me.) I don't want this POS. I liked it the old way, when it was integrated into the Drive app so that I could simply just switch to edit mode, write what was necessary, and be on my merry way. Now I have to sit down at my laptop which is slower than an iPad (that is truly saying something) and edit the damned document at such a slow rate. (another argument for getting a rig) In addition, Google is forcing this on Sheets too, which really disappoints me.

Hang on, you updated the app but now you have to download the "google drive" app?

Seriously, I came here expecting something horrible having to do with Google Fiber or net neutrality.  This is hardly a "damn it Google" situation.  :D

No, I updated it and now they want me to download seperate software in order for me to be able to edit documents in my GDrive account.

ok da fuq, I wanted to get that clear. I guess I won't  update mine. Unless the separate app if free I guess I can live with it.

Too bad your not on Android i would have advised you to download the previous versions APK. Also the new word doc editing thing looks great. Dont see why you are mad.

I am angry over the lack of integration. I don't want to install new stuff, I want it natively integrated.

They're gonna do the same thing with Presentations. And Google Drive is faster on my netbook than it is on my Chromebook, even though my Chromebook as a higher BrowserMark? score (by quite a bit).

I thought you were on PC and had problems but then I saw the i-word. Have you tried using it with just browser like Dolphin? Browser solution is best type imo. I use it besides win7 with Ubuntu to make masters thesis notes.
