PS3 Slim bad Disc drive

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

Buy another ps3 its literally cheaper than getting a disk drive.

Do you think it will work?Hello everyone,
I have a PlayStation 3 slim console CECH 2004B model whose disc drive stopped working and stopped reading discs from time to time,

I opened the device, cleaned the disc drive from the inside, including the Blu-ray Lens, but the problem does not go away, the drive reads discs and then stops reading them, there is a spinning noise but nothing appears on the screen, you have to insert the disc a few times for it to work

I searched the net for replacement disk drives and this is what I found,

From the user comments, it seems replacing the drive isn't straight forward but works

I'm willing to swim against the current.

That's what I did, thank you, it's very expensive to fix this issue,  it's not worth it, thanks
