Best Looking Graphics Card Ever?

HungryHamster

I've been a little disappointed with the looks of all the various 40 series RTX graphics cards and so it got me thinking about some of the best looking graphics cards.

What do you guys think is the best looking graphics card of all time?

I might be a little biased as a current owner, but in my opinion I think the EVGA GTX 1080/1070 FTW is right up there and maybe at the top:

I also like the look of the ASUS ROG Strix 3090/3080/3070:

For me it's either the 780 Ti K|NGP|N or 980 Ti K|NGP|N. I'm a sucker for the copper heatsink of the 980 Ti and love the clear housing of the 780 Ti, plus they're the best GPUs of their respective silicon (at least top 3, the Matrix, Lightning, and HOF cards did still exist then and they were really good as well) and I'm a bit of an XOC fan. I'd probably lean more 980 Ti, but I'd want to get both of these (do already own the 980 Ti)

980 Ti:

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti KINGPIN Unleashing Tomorrow - Pre-Binned, ACX 2.0+ and Pure Copper Based Card Starting at $850

780 Ti:

EVGA Unleashes The GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition - Built For Extreme Overclocking

There are runner up cards like the 10 series Founders GPUs (IMO the best looking Nvidia reference cooler, though definitely not a good cooler), 980 Ti/R9 390 Strix (they're the same heatsink), and basically all the Galax HOF cards, though if I had to pick one it would be one of those two K|NGP|N GPUs. Not a huge fan of the other K|NGP|N cards, the 1080 Ti K|NGP|N isn't terrible, though not a huge fan of that chain link or whatever you'd call it heat sink shroud, and I'm just not a big fan of the hybrid GPUs the K|NGP|N lineup became for the 20/30 series versions.

I owned both of these. They're gorgeous cards, and sad I got rid of them. VFE I traded away for a laptop that ended up dying (older Clevo unit, 0 support or parts available outside China basically), RVII I sold because AMD drivers broke for it 😔

For me, it'd be same, the blocky Vega/Vega II cards. Or else the EVGA 780 Ti Kingpin:

acx_cooling.thumb.jpg.ecbf686c40c29b7afb4e3c9b09250e25.jpg

The very sleek Kepler/Maxwell EVGA design but with translucent plastic reminiscent of older gameboys and such. And able to slap some serious wattage through the GPU:

pwm_baseplate.thumb.jpg.6da71873c8455b6937492faf2cb203cd.jpg

I only have the 780 non-Ti Classifieds, also gorgeous cards but without that extra swag the Kingpin has.

EVGA's Pascal cards are also wonderful, had two 1080 SCs, great cards.

Man I forgot about those, really beautiful card. Hopefully all these will be cheap enough someday I can collect 'em, but I think they're rare enough to hold value.

I really, really, really, love the look of the Radeon VII (as previously shown by @GOTSpectrum)...Too bad their cores die so quickly that I would have picked one up used, but can't trust the seller if they ran them into the ground mining crpyto.

The clean, minimalistic, and modern design of the cooler and backplate looks sick enough for me to put in my build.

They really are great. I got lucky that I found someone selling one on FB Marketplace for $200 in early 2021. Had to drive 4 hours total to pick it up the day after a snow storm in order to get it, but I'd say it was worth it.

I might be biased and getting a little old but as soon as these came out, my perspective changed. Suddenly the cheap plastic cards that came before them looked awful and these "milled out of a solid block of aluminum" cards just did it for me. Clean, no plastic besides the fans, great design.

And to hold/handle them you immediately understand.. just oozes quality that the AIB cards have none of. Dense, heavy.. they just feel expensive.

I've been buying GPU's since 2008ish regularly but my first card was a Voodoo3 2000 so i'm not just picking the latest new thing.

Whoops, sorry. That's what I meant. Will edit. I was disappointed the ASUS ROG Strix 4090 didn't look like those! I guess they just ran out of room for RGB on the side.

The Vega cards are cool, but I've always loved this one:

image.png.8d825038a1a63bfa4da0b92109c025bd.png

It's busy enough to be visually stimulating, (not a block), but simple enough to still look decent, to this day.

Either that or

Gtx 1070 katana, sure it's hot and loud, but got damn, that is one sexy card. The copper heatsink peeking through the shroud, the incredibly thin single slot design.

I'm a sucker for aggressive LEDs so I've always had a thing for the Sapphire Nitro + SEs, whether that's the 5700 XT, 6800 XT, or 6900 XT. Tripple ARGB fans, side strip, and logo + Great for its class cooling? Yeah... gimme that.

The pics don't do it justice, because IRL the fan lights are way brighter.

I agree, the 980 Ti looks the best, but that 780 Ti just looks horrible to me.

That Sapphire Nitro card is definitely my style!

I don't know that I'd call it the best looking card out of all of them out there, but I really liked this card back in the day:

image.jpeg.8ba7e789d27fda3aca9b13275a4b562b.jpeg

This is an old VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB card. I've owned it since it was brand new, and somewhere around here I think I still have the original box. I don't use it anymore (haven't in many years), but I keep it on a shelf as a display piece (which explains the dust on it in this picture).

I also really like the look of these single slot Quadro cards:

image.png.927c18f2b32da1b33c952a5787151be2.png

This one is a Quadro P4000, which is probably my favorite of these single slot Quadros. It's GP104 based, it has 8GB of GDDR5, 1792 CUDA cores, and it doesn't get very hot.

Polaris: Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASRock X79 Extreme6, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 1TB Crucial MX500, 750W Corsair RM750, Antec SX635, Windows 10 Pro

Pluto: Intel Core i7-2600, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASUS P8Z68-V, 4GB XFX AMD Radeon RX 570, 8GB ASUS AMD Radeon RX 570, 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, 3TB Seagate BarraCuda, 750W EVGA BQ, Fractal Design Focus G, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

York (NAS): Intel Core i5-2400, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3, HP Compaq OEM, 240GB Kingston V300 (boot), 3x2TB Seagate BarraCuda, 320W HP PSU, HP Compaq 6200 Pro, TrueNAS CORE (12.0)

I love it, it's like a Hot Wheels car in GPU Form. You could tell me it was sponsored by Mattel and I'd believe it. The black sticker, the flames, the translucent orange plastic.
