This is probably what I'd do. This, or spend the extra $100ish and go with the 3080Ti.

You can probably find a good monitor on BestBuy's site, search sales by BestBuy itself and open box. Lots of killer discounts to be had.

I went with this storage arrangement since games won't really notice the difference, and you're using it for bulk storage as well. If you want to save some money, you could drop to a 4TB SSD, and grab an 8TB HDD for the media storage.

Which actually works out to save about $50.

Really, though, at this point you might as well wait for Black Friday.

Budget (including currency): $3,500

Country: us

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden Ring, mortal shell, streaming, minecraft with lots of mods and visual enhancement mods.

Other details This is the current parts list I've come up with so far https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sbXGVw. There is a lot of storage there because I have lots of games and like to keep them installed, along with lots of room for saving video files from recording. Any advice would be appreciated as I've been saving up for a long time and want to get the best bang for my buck!

Honest Opinion? This may be one of the worst price to performance builds i have seen it quite some time. 3100$ and your only getting a 6600xt? This is a Horrible waste of money at this price.

Do you actually need 128GB of ram? Most streamers dont even use more then 32, let alone if you want to double that to 64. 128gb is pretty much pointless for a build like this if its just gaming and streaming, even with mods.

You dont need 2 Gen 4 NVME drives. Get one for your OS drive if you want, prefer 1 TB as the 2 TB ones are generally more then twice as expensive. Get 2 TB Gen 3 NVME drive as #2 and #3, then get Sata SSDs for the rest. Dont use HDD if you can.

You dont need a 850W Titanium PSU if it costs you 200$, another Huge waste of money. you can get a 1300W PSU for around 140$-170$ on EVGAs sites, Gold or Plat will do just fine, and you honestly just need a 850w-1000W if you ever plan to get a much better GPU.

With all the savings out of the way, probably in the Hundreds of $, you can get a 6800xt or 6900xt, or 3080/3080ti/3090 from 500-700$ depending on if you buy them used from a good source 🙂

5800X3D way better than 5800X in gaming.

128GB of RAM is soooo overkill for gaming and streaming, 16GB is plenty, add more to 32GB if you want.

I'm not gonna argue about the HDD, because I frankly have no clue for such huge capacity drives.

SSD, cheaper and better value SSD, you don't need WD blacks or any gen 4 SSD yet, even gen 3 is not fully utilized by game developers.

6950 XT instead of 6600XT, 6600 XT for 1440p would do you no good.

High quality 1000w psu, $200 for 850w psu is just....

Better 1440p monitor.

Get your windows license elsewhere, miles cheaper than the one on pcpartpicker.

Hmm.

  • That's a lot of money for a B series motherboard.
  • There's virtually no difference between a 5700x and 5800x.
  • No one gaming needs that much RAM.
  • Why don't you save a bunch of money and just get a 16TB HDD? Again, though, that's excessive.
  • If you're trying to separate your OS and core apps, just get a 512GB drive. Unless you actually use more than that for core apps, which again is unlikely.
  • PSU is over priced and unnecessary.
  • Video card is very weak for the amount you've spent on the build.

Honestly, overall, 2/10.
