Anyone know if that proprietary power connector is really necessary for the wattage?  A friend of mine had his MSI PSU damaged during a lightning strike.  And now he has to pay almost $200 for a new one.

Any laptop that costs more than 1500 is not worth the investment, imo. Nice build but a hard pass from me.
