I was wondering should I really upgrade to DDR5?

that's a motherboard upgrade too. DDR4 and DDR5 are not compatible with the same ram slots. What CPU do you have?

what are some of the benefits to uprageing to DDR5?

none right now. In practical terms, DDR5 is not really performing any better than somewhat fast DDR4 in the majority of tasks. Your workloads need to be seriously memory dependent to benefit from the new technology.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

And even then only the faster ddr5 is showing a real upgrade. The slower 4800mhz isnt doing much also true for the higher cl ones. So its really a hold off for a bit and dont be an early adopter time once again

Unfortunately the 5900X is not compatible with DDR5, so if your plan was to add DDR5 to your current setup, you won't be able to.
