Corsair RM 850 Used

Veisenberg

How good are these PSUs? Would you put this in a new PC build if it had been used for 5 years but was still going strong?

buying used is fine especially when its not that long

My curent psu is a random 450w dazuba from ~11 years ago that i bought used and still fine, pretty sure it has a rather limited life at this point considering its over a dacade old but still running fine atm and likely for a few more years, since you are looking at a 5 year old psu and its a decently high quality one id say itd be fine for another decade or so, if you are getting a really good deal on it then sure go ahead

It's from 2013. So nearing a decade.

50 pounds is too much for that a new rm 850 hovers around 90

I'd go for it.

Modern PSUs are pretty dang durable. I would replace it after the lifespan of whatever you're putting it in now though.

First RM where not that good. They came with only 5 years warranty for a reason and if you really need 850w you don't feed it with such old PSU that's near unreliable. So no, it's not worth to buy such old PSU. In the UK you buy https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WVWXPVZ?tag=pcp0f-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 brand new for 40!!!

That's a good price but I'm not sure a 650w would be enough for my system once I get my GPU?

MSI RX 6800 XT Gaming X Trio

4 x RGB 120mm case fans

As others have said... that's not been in use for only 5 years.  They were discontinued about 8 years ago.

If you're getting a 6800 XT, you can afford to get a decent PSU, instead of a used, mediocre decade old PSU.

There's a 750w for 77 https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/J6gFf7/corsair-txm-2021-750-w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020230-eu
