Well I know it's not needed for this site, but as a possibility to have it on and still look good wouldn't be bad. Not that I really care too much, for me it would be neutral on this site. But I find it an interesting topic nevertheless.

Actually not a bad idea but I don't think it's needed yet. Like XiaoPigs said, unless we make donations and stuff it's not necessary unless the forum becomes really big.

vkadurin - As far as I know https means that all the data on the website is encrypted, like passwords and stuff

I am a huge believer in https. No matter what the topic of the web page is. I don't want the government or corporation sniffing my packets. Even if they are about hard drives and ponies. It is an invasion of privacy.

Okay I agree, so yes if we start donating or purchases. Otherwise not necessary.

What HTTPS even mean? Sorry for the dumb question.

HTTPS is the first part of any website address link like: http://www.google.com in this case it's HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol).

With HTTPS with an "s" at the end it's the same link but encrypted with with 128-bit encryption (with SSL compression sometimes, which makes it even harder to hack and see what you are doing on the webpage, and possibly steal your information). Basically it makes it hard or sometimes impossible for others to hack/crack into your computer and see what you are doing on that webpage. The page will look like https://www.google.com.

You will most likely see HTTPS on pages where you are about to type in your credit card information for paying something, like PayPal.

I honestly don't care, but if it's to do with sensitive information, that's another story, it is also illegal.

There's not enough votes to make this stand out, but even so it looks like it's fifty/fifty.

The reason why if you go to that version of the forums it looks bad is because the CSS for it is not loading.

We are going to move to HTTPS as we are getting an SSL certificate.

hows everything going anyways?

the forum seems to be stable latly which is good

Its all about those volumetric clouds

HTTPS it pretty much encrypts all the data going over from your computer and the server. Therefore stopping hackers like darren from HAK5 stealing important info by sniffing!

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

On this forum, the only thing. Remember everyone, your posts are readable by anyone on the internets. More important is what type of password hash is being used

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
