So the place where I live still have kinda high GPU prices. I need a pc for Unity 3d, blender 3d, photoshop, premier pro, after effects and some light gaming. And there are 2 GPUs in my budget. The new RTX 3050 and the AMD RX6600 (not the xt, it's like 200$ more than the non xt) and I'm confused which one to go for. Ik 6600 is better card but I'll be doing some productive stuff which is better suited with CUDA according to my research. But the rx 6600 has overall better performance. So what shd I go with? And there is no way I can increase my budget so, politely, pls don't suggest that. Other than that I'm gonna use i5 10400f and 16gigs ram 3000mhz

6600 is 20% faster in gaming but you'll lose NV software for graphics work, so depends on where you prefer to suffer 🙂

Anyway both are quite weak for 3D work...

Yeah, RX 6600 is noticeably faster:

Though the fps ddifference varyis from benchmark-to-benchmark

Sure, but I had a look at Blender benchmarks, and then the 3050 scores *double* vs the 6600 (1600 vs 800)...

https://opendata.blender.org/benchmarks/query/?compute_type=OPTIX&compute_type=CUDA&compute_type=HIP&compute_type=METAL&group_by=device_name&blender_version=3.1.0

Ikr. But I'm not rly gonna work with extremely high poly professional stuff but just some mid level work and mostly photoshop and i think these GPUs shd suffice. But I'd obviously go for whichever among these work better.

Ok.. But rly you should wait to have $100 more and buy a 3060

Problem with the 3050 is that it's not even present proof, so will become near unusable in 2 years time

Yes but well im a teenager and if I was using my money I'd definitely wait but sadly I'm still counting on my parents to get me a computer so that i can start learning early and get a career in this and I'm already thankful for what I'm getting I can't rly ask them for more. I'd rather upgrade when I'm earning myself. So for now I just wanna know. 3050 or 6600? Cz that's what my budget allows.

What's your budget ? There's usually a way to squeeze a bit here or there to get a better GPU 🙂

Well that's what I'm saying. I'll probably upgrade to a much better cpu and gpu once I'm earning my own money but for now maybe you can plsss just let me know which one is better in 3050 and 6600?

As said already, if you want to game better get a 6600, if you want to 3D edit better get a 3050...

With the other parts I've listed you'd get a nice PC with no need to upgrade for a couple years, and with a 6600 or 3050 you're inside budget

I'd go for better 3d performance. I mean I've the 3050 can't be THAT bad for gaming right? Plus I'd only be doing some light gaming like valorant, csgo or Minecraft so I'm pretty sure the 3050 should get the job done. Also I'm kinda sure it's be better than my i5 3320m 4gb ram intel hd 4000 graphics laptop.

Update: there's also a 2060 at that price now. 3050 has more cuda cores and vram tho... What do u say? I believe more vram and cuda will be helpful but the 192 bit 2060 is a tough competition. Plus I'm focused on 3d workflow so what's your opinion on a better card among these?

they say 2060 can better load texture and scenes faster. And that's what i need. i'm confused.

Interesting, my bad, I thought the 3050 was better due to higher core count and clocks, but no, it's really a bad card, again, get a 3060 !! 🙂
