True, but in this case since Task Manager and HWInfo more or less agree, I think what may be going on here is AVX offset. Posted May 26, 2022 Author I have AVX set normal other then disable, offset I think is at defaults to 6, I know I lose 600mhz anyway. On XMP II - I do not see any difference in XMP I or II other then mostly running at 4.8ghz What's good core voltage and settings to get to 5ghz easy while running everyday things? And its true taskmanager can malfunction and not show the correct numbers, but its the exception rather than the norm, in my experience (3 computers currently and it works fine on all of them) The direction tells you... the direction. -Scott Manley, 2021 Softwares used: Corsair Link (Anime Edition) MSI Afterburner OpenRGB Lively Wallpaper OBS Studio Shutter Encoder Avidemux FSResizer Audacity VLC WMP GIMP HWiNFO64 Paint 3D Paint GitHub Desktop Superposition Prime95 Aida64 GPUZ CPUZ Generic Logviewer
 Posted May 26, 2022 6 hours ago, Empire24453 said: Is it normal for task Manager to read false information? The Task Manager is not too bad on Intel 10th Gen CPUs. It is not so good on older CPUs and it might not be great on 12th Gen CPUs that have the P and E cores running at two different speeds. When a 10th Gen Intel CPU is running at a steady 4.80 GHz, it is normal for the Task Manager to report slightly less. Your screenshot shows 4.77 GHz so the Task Manager is not botching things too badly. Use ThrottleStop if you want a more accurate look at what multiplier your CPU is using. During a 1 thread - 1 core test, it correctly shows that the CPU is using the 52 multiplier for the majority of the time. There are always Windows background tasks, waking up additional cores. That is why when using default settings for the 10850K, I never see the full 52.00 multiplier during a 1 core test. An average multiplier of 51.95 on the most active thread is pretty damn close. For a 10700K, set all of the turbo ratios to 50 and give it as much voltage as it needs to be stable. Use HWiNFO and monitor the VCore voltage. Somewhere around 1.35 V might be a good place to start testing. If you are not stable, try using more voltage and if you are stable, try using less voltage. No one knows exactly how much voltage your CPU needs to be stable. You can only find out by doing lots of stability testing with your CPU. If your computer cannot maintain 5.00 GHz during a stress test, have a look to see what your turbo power limits are set to in the BIOS. Some throttling is normal if the turbo power limits are left at their default values. I use 300W for PL1 and PL2. Many motherboards have an option that sets both of these power limits to the max, 4095W. That is one way to make sure there is no power limit throttling. Posted May 26, 2022 Author already had it setup for a day now with @unclewebbat 5.1 GHz on all cores with Vcore 1.4V with turbo ratios to 51 - had no crashes or blue screen while in MSFS2020 for 4 hours and also around one hour worth of CSGO. HAppy wit hthe temps, while max in gaming with case fans at 1100RPM and CPU AIO at 800 to 900RPM holding around 60c and max is like 67C
