Ram clock is not what is supposed to be

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

The JEDEC speed on the memory kit is 2133MHz. Most RAM kits I've seen usually default to 2133MHz, including some high end kits.

Also that board and CPU support memory overclocking, so you should be able to enable the XMP profile and just have it run at 3600MHz.

Hi, ^_^

I have a pc with this configuration:

Asus ROG Z490-f

intel corei5 10400

Corsair Vengeance 16x2 3600MHz

I have changed my Ram recently, and I will change my CPU too, but here is the problem that I am facing right now with this config,

based on intel website, my 10400 can handle up to 2666MHZ Ram freq, but currently, according to CPUz and windows task manager, it is working @2133MHz. Why is it not working @2666Mhz ?

how can I fix it?

Set the clock to 2666 manually in BIOS

CPU: i7 4790K OC 4.7GHz @1.275V

MOBO: ASUS Z87-PLUS
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS DDR3 8Gx2 1600MHz OC 2133MHz (11-12-12-32)
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 SUPER

Enabling XMP fixed it. I thought XMP profile is just for overclocking, like kinda hitting beyond 3600 Freq in this case.

Thanks guys.
