HD Replacement for QNAP TS-563 - IronWolf Pro or Exos ???

LAM-PARK

Currently setup:

QNAP TS-563

Raid5

Disk1: Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008-2DR166 (4TB)

Disk2: Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008-2DR166 (4TB)

Disk3: Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008-2DR166 (4TB)

Disk4: Seagate IronWolf ST4000NE001-3CR101 (4TB)

Disk5: Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008-2DR166 (4TB)

P1/M1: Samsung SSD 970 PRO (1TB)

P1/M2: Samsung SSD 970 PRO (1TB)

Recently I had Disk4 die and unknowingly replaced it with the newer version of the 4TB Ironwolf

Well, after reading and looking at my storage situation, I am at 80% capacity and ready to up-size Disks 1~5

I plan to add a 8 camera system next month and will need more storage for that as well.

I was about to order 5 of the Ironwolf Pro 12TB ST12000NE0008 drives ($314/ea) to give me 36TB of RAID5 storage but then I found the Exos drives.  Now I am totally confused.

IronWolf or Exos ????

Thank for your input.

Be careful with 1 2tb Exos drives. They are getting a bad reputation.
