How long have you been waiting for your 30 Series Pre-order?

SURELY IT CAN'T GET ANY WORSE?

 

I've been through an excruciating 9 month waiting period for a 3070Ti only for it to arrive faulty to extend that wait another 3 months while it was being replaced..

Now there is a pit in my stomach whenever the slightest thing technical goes wrong 

 

Please, please, please share your 30 series or any GPU horror stories it would really make me feel the slightest bit better about the trauma a single PC part has caused me this year!

I put in my reservation for all the 3080 models with EVGA in December 2020. I got the allocation email just last week and bought it for a friend. It wasn't much of a horror story as I got my 3090FE from Best Buy in January 2021. Had I been waiting all this time for a 3080 though.. yeah, that would have sucked. 13 month wait.

Did hear something about 3080s taking over a year for some people to finally get on backorder. I couldn't have the patience to wait any longer than that so props to you.

I mean I am basically waiting for the clock to tick into forcibly being given a product of equal value at the point of sale. Because I know the msi card I ordered is no longer in production which basically means I will get myself a 500€ 3070 whether they want to or not. They have 4 weeks left to give me one or I get to pick another with similar msrp or pay the difference.

I didn't have to wait.  Just walked into best buy and picked up 3 3080s and payed for them. Then put them in my wife, brother in law, and son's systems.

Hmm, to my knowledge BB hasn't stocked shelves with RTX3000 series since they were released. Interesting.

Not all BB are stocking on shelves.  Only extreme high volume locations.  In Miami FL it's the Doral location.  It's basically next to Dolphin Mall and International Mall.  A very high tourist shopping area. Also very close to the airport.
