PC randomly restart - a very complex problem!

KazyhaKing

Hello, I decided to create an account here because maybe I will get some help, reading other topics I have the impression that people know their stuff.

The matter is serious with my computer.

The whole computer is restarting randomly. Once it works fine for a month, and then it restarts 5 times in one day.

There is no need to write too much, I have tested many things and possibilities, unfortunately I am still not sure what is the reason, but I have a clue.

But at the beginning:
Ryzen 9 5900X
GF 1070 Gigabyte
ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS
G.Skill Trident Z Neo, DDR4, 32 GB, 3600MHz, CL16
SeaSonic Prime GX 850W (SSR-850GD)

I did memtest (ofc 0 errors), stress tests each part of the computer (0 errors), rearranged the ram dice, updated the bios.

Recently I read that there are problems with SeaSonic power supplies, every now and then I see topics about a problem like this.
Is it possible that these power supplies have a manufacturing defect? They prob bad working with high-end Ryzens?

Thanks for help, maybe I will get some info how to avoid this problem.

Yes, I reconnected everything to be sure. I also bought a new power strip at one time, its not about cables.

I think its MOBO or this power supply.

Yeah, no bsods, just restarts to Windows. Sometimes its boot looped and can't start.

In the BIOS, you have "state after AC power loss".  What is it set to?

"Restore AC Power Loss" is on my mobo, like I see and its "power off". @jonnyGURU

So you're saying the PC actually shuts down and restarts?  Like, black screen and then back to the BIOS screen, the Windows loads.  Is there any gap in time between the PC "crashing" and coming back up again?  Is there any delay in the cycle?  Please describe the entire scenario.

Its the same scenario like on this video:

BUT on my PC its not matter that's in stress or not. Its just totally random.

It is worth adding that this problem cannot be reproduced by its randomness.
The last reboot itself was 3 days ago, but I know the problem will return.
Currently using CTR2.1 trying to set constant voltages, maybe the fact that voltages jump so much on Ryzen is the reason?

I did a lot of tests.

I just used this:

I thought so. I am still leaning towards a memory issue. Either that or your pbo settings aren’t good. Generally with reboots like you describe it’s a memory issue. You could try bumping vdimm a hair, or maybe even your SOC. You are running two sticks or four? If it was your PSU tanking, you should see your 12v dip into the low elevens, same with your 3.3, should be in the 2.8s to crash.

Anywhoo, I am not an expert so I will leave this to the pros who know 🙂

But if it was RAM problems there would be blue screens of death and there would be some errors on the test, don't you think? @freeagent

No. RAM issues with Ryzen can occur a lot of weird symptoms.

Is SeaSonic Prime GX 850W (SSR-850GD) good PSU btw?

Issues with some GPUs, but not yours.

Bsod can happen with Ryzen, but they are fairly rare, at least on my rig. If it’s not happy it does what yours does.

Isn't this option just turning off reset after BSOD btw? If I dont have BSOD it will change nothing... @jonnyGURU

I'm more focused on if you DO have a BSOD at this point.  Let's cross that bridge when we get to it.

@Juular

Nah its not, just using it to  have 1.200 stable and good  performance on CPU (less mhz than standard btw). This program is magic, its stable also.  I set the voltage constant this way because I think the power supply is turning over because there are such large voltage spikes.

But its not really matter that program working or not, prob. I had resets also in BIOS where this program not working...

It's clearly not. Just let the CPU do it's work. Disable CTR and reset BIOS, see if restarts persist.
