PC randomly restart - a very complex problem!

KazyhaKing

I tested that before, reset BIOS and normal "work" crash also. Thats why I wanted to do this.

Look up Event 18, WHEA Error in the event viewer, there should be a type and id of the hardware that's caused it.

I checked. Moments before, or after crash - only logs about "power off". No errors with info what caused that at all.

It’s under volted, there’s your problem. It’s not stable if it’s doing what you describe.

Yessir, No problems to report.  I run high boost on the CPU (5150) and the GPU (2100/1300). Mems are clocked at 1900 with 1.525v, so four sticks. All of my fans rev to 2500RPM or higher, and there are 5. System draws roughly 640w at the wall while running distributed computing programs such as f@h and boinc. It’s on the edge, I should get something a little larger. I can push my 12v rail down to the upper 11s. No reboots or shenanigans.

  • 3 weeks later...

I changed the ram bones again, single bones - the problem occurs. With XMP enabled and disabled it is the same. PC works from 09.01 to 27 very well but now again that's attack and resets party.

I dont really know what to do. I will prob buy new RAM to test... idk, I can't just send it to service it will be too long.
I noticed that during "boot loops" after which sometimes the light next to "DRAM" lights up, as if it was an error but on the other hand when there are no resets and I do MEMtest everything goes through very well.

I think its RAM prob but sadest is that I cant be sure...

My thoughts drifted a bit away from the power supply, I think a faulty power supply would kick out almost that all the time.

Have you tried using different RAM stress test? Try using TestMem5 instead.

I used to have PC restarts randomly too and memtest86 didn't say anything, then later I tried TestMem5 which did show errors.

@BuzzingBeeWhich config did you use? Do you recommend any? I tried using conifgu by 1usmus_v3 but for somre reason it shows me that I didnt give permission to program so he cant test it, ofc I started it with admin... wtf?

Edit:
Okay, found on some forum that I have to restart PC and everything is okay. I did fast 3 tests, looks fine, ofc. Dont have more time right now but I will test 10 times today or tomorrow.

@BuzzingBee
I will test it today with this CFG at night but I have question cuz i am not in home - this is ONLY ram heavy or CPU also? Like I saw some cfg's are only RAM but some of them also CPU.

It's RAM heavy, although it uses CPU too (but not fully stressing it) it assumes your CPU is already stable.
