Only if it's pushes on the card then it's too close

The U12 is slightly smaller than your current cooler, and the Fuma 2 is very slightly larger.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

Between NH-U12A and Scythe Fuma 2 the best choice is Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (if it's available where you live).

 

If you're looking for a very large gap between the back of the GPU and the heatsink (it's not that important, unless it pushes a lot like mentioned above), the best cooler for that is Noctua NH-D15S (and on top of being extremely offset away from the GPU it's not tall, it's only 2mm taller the NH-U12A).
