Do you mean 'actual cores' as compared to a CPU?

GPU's don't work with those same types of general purpose cores, but rather with a very specific purpose cores which can't just do general tasks (rather a program has to be written to use Nvidia's CUDA cores/AMD Radeon's Stream Processors).

Explain why is CUDA cores not actual cores then?

Desktop benching:

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s
