An everyday persons review of the envy x360 15inch laptop

I bought the envy x360 15 inch 2020 edition laptop off of Linus's recommendation. This is a short, normal persons review:

When it comes to software and overall everyday usage i am very satisfied. Its snappy and works great in any scenario. I use it as a school laptop and the 2in1 utility works great as a notebook when using OneNote, but I dont see a usecase other than that. If you want to get this laptop for digital creation such as drawing DO NOT GET IT! getting good straight lines with the hp pen is next to impossible unless you do a quick and insanely accurate swipe. But for fast writing or quick sketches for school its fine (I am a uni student for electrical engineering).

When it comes to the keyboard I have no complaints, it's not mushy at all and satisfying to use, also the trackpad is great. It's big enough and has great palm rejection.

Now we are at build quality: The screen is THICK and i mean it when I say thick in proportion to the actual body of the laptop. It feels like it's responsible for half of this laptops weight. And where there are screens, there are hinges. I dont understand why HP would use such sucky hinges on a laptop. They might be good but that quality is negated by the heavy screen. IF you do your research on HINGES SPECIFICALY (which I didnt) you'll see a problem, the hinges bend. Ive had this laptop since august of 2021 and I've noticed bend in the hinges. They bend and contort. They dont feel looser, maybe a little, but the bending is worrysome. And yes, I have noticed bending on my hinges.

I am impressed by the performance of this laptop but the hinges scare me and if I knew they were like this, I wouldn't have bought this laptop. I dont know about many of you but 1000 eur is not a small amount of money for me and makes this machine the opposite of a budget laptop.

My main goal of this post is to hopefully influence Linus (AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TEAM) to focus on the hinges. They are one of the most important parts of a laptop and if made wrong can put your laptop out of commission.

I'll update this post when anything changes, and with these hinges, I fear it will pretty soon.
