Anyone know how i can undervolt a Ryzen 5800X on a MSI X570 Gaming Plus?

I have this CPU in a custom prebuilt PC. It's stock and it's running ''relatively'' hot

My Asus Tuf 3070 OC stock doesnt even think about going over 65C, wish i could say the same for the CPU.

I havent actually seen it hit 80C, but it's gotten pretty close. I know this is normal for zen 3 cpu's and tbf it usually hovers around 75C most of the time during Cyberpunk and Red Dead 2.

It's custom built in a Asus Tuf Gaming GT501  with 6 fans and has a Cooler Master ML240L RGB V2

I dont think airflow is the Issue here because the GPU runs so cool at 65C max with 99% GPU usage

It's worth mentioning that they ''optimised'' the PC for me. When i got it delivered the CPU temp didnt go over 64C and it worked great. Apart from the fact it kept rebooting itself. They told me to reset the bios, so i did.

The PC stopped rebooting itself but the CPU ran considerably warmer. Which leaves me to believe they undervolted it before sending it to me. I don't know what setting they touched to make the PC reboot itself but i would like my cooler CPU back lol.

Also the fucking fans. The fucking fans drive me crazy after i reset the bios. They spin way faster now.

I'm currently awaiting a response from them, but that probably wont come for another 24 hours. How hard could it be to undervolt this cpu?

I tried looking up a guide but nothing matched my CPU and motherboard combo. Is there some sort of software i can use instead of going into the bios? Or if anyone has this CPU/Motherboard setup and knows how to do it it would be great.

Thanks

Yeah and with that that pretty much means your CPU runs back in default, and thats kinda expected temps on Ryzen 7 especially under heavy load. You gonna need to ask them whats their undervolt profile and copy it, but raise the voltage up by 0.05-0.1V. Also, turn D.O.C.P back on.

If you have AMD Ryzen Master install in Windows 10, you can technically undervolt your CPU using that utility. However, I would strongly discourage undervolting Ryzen CPU as they don't work properly and causes instability. I would suggest you to manually set the CPU frequency to lower and it should also lower the temperature and voltage since it don't have to run very fast.

You can use pbo settings in bios to set a ppt limit. Try around 100, maybe 105.

additionally for the fan noise, install 'fancontrol' program found on these forums. it's an amazing utility to fully customize fan speed exactly how you want on a per-fan basis. very lightweight footprint, not bloatware. best of luck.
