Need a mic that picks up all noise

REPO

What microphone do you guys recommend that clearly will pick up music, people, all audio of any kind within a 10 foot radius and not cancel out whatever it decides

So my son stream with his sister and friends sometimes in the same room. With the mic from the C920 it worked great!!!!

We moved him to a DSLR and a external mic and have tried Razor, CMTECK, Moukey, Tonor and all noise cancel past about 1-2 feet, even though they claim otherwise.

I got the CMTECK to pick up the voices 80% of the time, but the music in the background 0%

You should be looking for (at least one if not multiple) large diaphragm condenser microphones. This is extremely easy to achieve with LDCs

take a look at the guide in my sig for more information.

So both of the AT ones you talk about are XLR hook ups, and that are jack style or USB that you would recommend?

If you were happy with the C920's microphone, could you continue using that purely as an audio input?

If you only need mono and have a decent audio input, there are a number of omni electret capsules that may do the job fine for a lot cheaper than a full microphone setup. The EM172 (and equivalent EM272) are commonly used in ambient field microphones and can be picked up fairly cheaply. https://micbooster.com/primo-microphone-modules/127-primo-em272-with-35-mm-plug.html

I'd tend to shy away from AT but they will do what you want them to and yes, they're XLR.
