framework laptop funding

I don 't think a charity stream would make them nearly enough money to do anything substantial. I don't think the GoFundMe platform is really designed to do what you're suggesting. What might be more suitable is a Kickstarter campaign. Selling something on the store might work but it also takes away profit from LTT.

he said it was mostly about helping them not investing. from what he said it seemed more like when he bought gamestop stocks. he went on a tangent about how he could have invested in good companies a long time ago if it was about money.

He bought GameStop stocks for an entirely different reason.

i know. none of what i said was actually donating money. more like donating time to generate them money. i already explained why i said it all to the other guy. have a feeling neither of you even watched the wan show and that you did not read what i said to the other guy. glad i never came in here a ton seems like some reddit level stuff in here. well if linus staff sees it and likes it they do if not it is whatever i'll see myself out now.

You know money, and time of your employees are basically the same thing right?

Linus could invest into the company and if there are concerns surrounding that, he could stop reviewing laptops.

There are plenty of qualified members in his team for that such as Alex or Anthony. That way, there would be no conflict of interest. It isn't LMG that invested, it's Linus Sebastian, so Anthony or Alex would have no affiliation what so ever with Framework.

I know it's probably a bit of a sacrifice for Linus to give up on reviewing laptops, but I think this could work.

Outside of that, I'd be ok with him investing anyway.

There will still be perceived conflicts of interest though, even if it's not direct. The name of the company is Linus Media Group, after all.

I personally think the investment isn't that smart, and I don't see the product taking off at all.

Or he just keeps doing what he more than likely already does. Invest and not tell anyone about it.

From what I can recall, he doesn't invest in anything at all. It's handled by his wife, and more likely, a financial advisor or with the use of simple index funds.
