I need to RMA my corsair PSU, what am I in for?

nightmarevoid

My corsair SF750 died a week ago and so I sent in an RMA request to Corsair. I included all details and a picture of the info label on the side, but I still haven't heard back. I don't even see an open ticket when I search for the ticket number on Corsair's website. Has anyone had to RMA through Corsair and can tell me what I might be in for?

Ryzen 7 3700X

Aorus GTX 1080ti

G.Skill TridentZ 3200MHz 2x8GB

Corsair SFX 750W

Phanteks Evolve Shift Air (glass front)

Looks like all of them except "Corsair" and "Corsair Blake" are. If you look at their profile, the real ones will have the "Industry Affiliate" tag.

Though most of them haven't visited the forum in a while...

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Corsair RMA is decent, but they sent me a refurbished unit without telling me first, so they might either send you a new replacement or a refurbished one.

You sent the request in a week ago?  Through the portal on Corsair's website, right?  What country are you in?

I'm in the USA, and yes I sent my request through Corsair's website by following links for warranty service.

Shouldn't take a week.

Pro tip:  Support software will bump tickets to the end of the line if you continuously add to them or reply to them.  That's because they assume the customer has new things to add and therefore makes sure the newest information is presented first.  Regardless of first submission, the last email on the ticket is first in.

Back when I did tech support in Florida, I had a customer named Patrick that kept bumping himself down the queue by responding to the ticket with "are you guys there?" every 24 hours.

Thanks for the tip.  I did respond to the initial email today, but I'm worried that either no one is on my case yet, or it was abandoned. As I said there is no ticket on Corsair's website when I search for my ticket number.

Did you receive any updates on it through e-mail ? Maybe it's a fluke, try submitting another one, it shouldn't take a week to get any kind of response.

I think I'll have to at this point. I even DMed Corsair support on Twitter and got nothing. I think they also aren't seeing my ticket, and so their support script just tells them to ignore it.

Tangent - I had to call EVGA once and to my surprise I actually got a living local human within a minute or two, and they helped me out very quickly.

Not that this helps here.....but yeah I was definitely surprised.

I'm old, we call and use our phones as phones 🙂

I would have immediately called customer service to verify the ticket and status. If it's not showing, make them resubmit.
