Need help finding a monitor.

MaR6us

As it's the first time in years that I've bought a brand new computer, I can't lack a monitor to show the differences.

I am looking for an ultra-wide 1440p ~34'.

Main use will be gaming, but focused on looks rather than performance in competetive.

After years of sitting on poor quality from cheap TN's I'd like to switch to something at least somewhat 'good'.

Budget - 1200-1400$ Europe

Your best choice right now is either the LG 34GP83A-B or the LG 34GN850-B. Both are essentially the same monitor but one might be easier to find than the other in your region. They are currently as good as it gets for ultrawide monitors overall.

The only monitors that are even better (if you don't mind losing a bit of response time for a much better image quality) are the Asus PG35VQ and Acer Predator X35. They are proper HDR monitors, but they come with a hefty price premium.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Unfortunately (or not) only the LG 34GN850-B is available in my region.

Maybe one day good hdr will become more widely available.
