Windows 11 works on Threadripper 1900X and W5700 out of the box

brandmeister

Guten Tag 🙂

got my hands on the Windows 11 ISO file and could install it on my workstation without fiddling around and modifying the ISO file. Everything installed just fine and I only ran into minor issues.

Was already activated - maybe because I tried it out on that machine with Hyper-V and I was able to activate it with a Windows 7 Pro license.

The only minor issues accured during the AMD drivers installation, but after succesful reboot it works 100%.

Tried it out on the Surface Go with 128GB and 8GB RAM aswell and there you can install it just fine, too.

But ofc, without Secure Boot.

I prepared my USB drive with the YUMI UEFI tool.

My hardware:

1900X

MSI X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

4* 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz

Samsung 980 1TB

Radeon Pro W5700

Regarding bloatware imho the experience is way smoother and better compared to Windows 10.

Because thats the "demo", Windows 10 was "smooth" too when it released, problem is they keep adding stuff no one (the majority) did ask for. Not that win 10 is slow, its just not really optimized well and full of  clutter.  If it was a Steam game id most definitely refund ~
