Corsair iCue 4.0 bad customer support

Hi all,


I've been following LTT and LMG since the old house but this is my first time posting here.

So most of my pc components are linked in some way to the corsair ecosystem and since the last update of iCue I noticed that for some reason my mouse is not showing up there. Now I'm not in the worst position here since it's just a mouse but when I digged in deeper in corsair's forums I Found out that corsair simply Listed a bunch of components as unsupported by their own software. Components that can still be bought online without the any notice of being unsupported by their software.

Some of them aren't even that old:

  • H80i GT Hydro Series Cooler
     
  • H100i GTX Hydro Series Cooler
     
  • H110i GTX Hydro Series Cooler
     
  • H80i V2 Hydro Series Cooler

This is a really shitty way to force their customers to just buy an unecessary product just because they don't want to add software support.

Has this issue been addressed in the wan show? what do you guys think about this?

I dont see what the problem is here. They dont advertise it as those products support icue4 nor they deleted icue3 from internet or made it hard to get. It is up to consumer to know what they are getting and what software if any they will be using. Some of those products are 5+ years old, not everyone wants use every software that comes with a device or cares for it.

Oh so thats why my cooler (H115i) does not appear in icue4. The funny thing is the damn driver comes bundled with the app. 🙄

Yeah, I'll gripe about this.

 

There was a bug in v3 that would stop sending /receiving info to/from my H80i v2 until you restarted the service, and this would happen multiple times per day. Corsair was aware of it but never issued a fix for it; instead it seems they just invalidated the product and moved on. At least I still have an installer for LiNK that works perfectly with it...

@Leventok so iCUE 3 tells you there's an update and when you go for it you install 4.0 without a warning for those components/peripherals that are no longer supported so for me that's a big no no.

 

There's also the issue that they didn't give any technical reason for that, so we are left for instance with an AIO that is not all that different from the current ones without a driver. How difficult can it be for them to recognize an AIO from 5 years ago with a pump, LEDs and sensors from an AIO launched last year with a pump, LED's and sensors?
